EnterpriseDB is the only world wide provider of enterprise-class products and services based on PostgreSQL, the world's most advanced and independent open source database.
Postgres Plus Advanced Server provides the most popular enterprise class features found in the leading proprietary products but at a dramatically lower total cost of ownership across transaction intensive as well as read intensive applications. Advanced Server also enables seamless migrations from Oracle® that save up to 90% of the cost of typical migrations.
EnterpriseDB employs a number of industry thought leaders and more PostgreSQL open source community experts than any other organization including core team members Bruce Momjian and Dave Page. Our expertise allows EnterpriseDB to provide customers in all market segments unparalleled 24x7 support, value packed software subscriptions, custom consulting engagements, and targeted training services.
EnterpriseDB was founded in 2004 with the goal of disrupting the database oligopoly with an equally capable product based on open source principles and development that offered dramatic cost savings. The company chose PostgreSQL as its technology foundation because PostgreSQL was proven by over 20 years of large-scale commercial deployments, its thriving developer community, and its reputation for being the strongest open source database available.
With hundreds of customers worldwide, including Sony, FTD, hi5 Networks, FAA, Vonage, McKesson, TD Ameritrade and hundreds more, EnterpriseDB has earned the reputation as a trusted technology and business partner.
EnterpriseDB has attracted funding from leading venture capital firms and strategic partners, including Valhalla Partners, Charles River Ventures, Volition Capital, IBM, NTT (Nippon Telephone and Telegraph), Red Hat, Sony, TransLink Capital, and Korea Telecom

in 1998 we are a boring Java education company that teaches courses for IBM, Sun, and other education centers.
Very soon, we feel the need to do things differently. We want our teaching to benefit projects in direct and visible ways. We quickly start to nudge development projects on a path towards more efficient learning.
In 2004, we realize that we need to give students well-defined learning goals and targets. How can they progress if they don't know where to go? How do they know they arrived, or even that they are on the right track? JavaBlackBelt.com is born in our minds: a set of real world exams for business Java developers.
One year later, the site is launched.
Today, 70,000 users and many more anonymous visitors have given 5,000,000 answers to 50,000 community-created exam questions.
We are proud to have really helped a lot of people shift from book- or classroom-oriented training to "objective-oriented training".
Now that learners have a target, we're asking the question "How can we help them achieve that target even faster?". In 2009, our answer is to start Coached e-Learning.
